These terms govern your use of The Shipper’s Almanac at theshippersalmanac.com (the “site”), published by Balawender & Associates LLC, Ohio, USA (“we,” “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.

The Almanac is general educational material about freight, transportation, and related accounting practices. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, or regulatory-compliance advice, and it is not advice about your specific situation. Examples are illustrative. Tariffs, contracts, regulations, and market conditions change, and your facts will differ.

Reading the site, contacting us, or requesting a diagnostic does not create an advisory, fiduciary, or client relationship. Any engagement would be governed by a separate written agreement. Consult qualified professionals before making decisions.

You may read, print, and share the site for your personal or internal business use. You agree not to:

• copy or republish substantial parts of the site, or scrape it to build a competing product or dataset, without permission;
• interfere with the site, probe or test its security, or overload it;
• submit false, misleading, unlawful, or automated form entries, or impersonate anyone; or
• use the site in violation of any law.

When you use a form, you confirm the information is accurate and yours to share. Please do not send confidential information; we cannot treat unsolicited submissions as confidential unless we have agreed to in writing. If you send suggestions or feedback about the Almanac, we may use them without obligation to you.

The site’s text, diagrams, and design are owned by Balawender & Associates LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote short excerpts with attribution to “The Shipper’s Almanac” and a link to the page. Anything beyond that needs our written permission.

“The Shipper’s Almanac” and “Elite Logistics” are names used by Balawender & Associates LLC. Other company, carrier, and product names mentioned on the site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them; their mention does not imply endorsement.

The site links to other websites, including Elite Logistics (elite-logistics.io), which is operated by the same company, and to third-party sites we do not control. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Balawender & Associates LLC and its members, employees, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the site. Because the site is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

We may update these terms. The new version takes effect when posted here with a new date. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
